I can't believe I haven't reviewed my favorite NYC thin pizza!! This is an easy win for Sauce whether it be a late night snack or sit down with friends. There's a pizzeria where they sell slices and then a Sauce restaurant next door where you can order actual pies with nice ambiance. The Vodka slice is absolute perfection. It's thin as paper but packed with flavor - vodka sauce isn't too heavy on the cream part and has the right amount of acidity. Since it's so thin, you can easily eat the whole pie - literal crack. The Cheese slice is also a classic but not as good as the vodka. Season with some extra Parmesan & oregano and it's the perfect post clubbing delicacy (if you're in lower east). I've been here many times and will be back for many more:)

A little late on my review for this place, but better late than never. Outstanding pizza. Simply put, Sauce is one of the premier NYC pizzerias. It came be named with all the legendary titans of New York pizza in the same sentence. The hours are great, they're open late, although I've noticed the later times I've gone have had a younger crowd and can be crowded, but they have it down to a science and the line moves fast. I actually looked this up and am reviewing it because I'll be in the city and wanted to grab a slice from here on my way home. Temporarily closed? What's going on here? I hope they open soon because they've really established themselves as a premier NYC pizzeria. Wishing nothing but the best and to open soon so I can come in for a few slices.

I was led here by the one bite review and wasn't disappointed. Thin crust, excellent tomato base, and complimentary sauce on the side. However, I heard that they recently changed owners which resulted in a completely new but horrible takeover. They altered the recipe despite it already being perfected and have gotten rid of the free sauce add on. What a shame, hopefully when they open up again they will go back to their old ways and steal back the hearts of their loyal patrons.
